3 Braided Hair Ideas

Spring is finally here, and with it comes the unpredictable weather and the worry for untamable hair. Simply putting the long strands of hair up and away from the face is very tempting, but come on, who doesn’t want to look cute while running errands. I don’t mean that messy buns or ponytails are unattractive, they’re not, but hey; why not rock a new hairstyle once in a while. Right? Down below are three hairstyles that I have been obsessed with lately. I want to share them with you because they’re very simple to do and take almost no time at all. The good thing about them is that they can be worn for both casual and formal events. That means, that you can wear the same hairdo to your date that you wore to the grocery store.

For the hairstyles, you want to have two-day-old hair, as it gives the hair more grip.

Fish Tail

Steps
1. Begin by parting your hair as you normally would.

2. Divide all your hair into two sections at the bottom back of
   of your head
3. Take a piece from the outside of one section and cross it
over adding it to the other side.
4. Do the same with the second section.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 all the way down the hair.
6. To finish, secure the hair with a clear elastic (you can
either leave the braid at the back or move it forward).

Double Braided Bun

Steps
1. Begin by parting the hair as you normally would. Then
take a small piece of hair from the top of your head (I’m
showing you both pieces here so you can see where to
   grab them from).
2. Next, grab one of the sections and begin to build a French
Braid. Once the braid is above your ear, braid the
remaining hair into a normal three-stranded braid. Secure
it with a clear a elastic.
3. Do the same to the other section on the opposite side of
   your head.
4. Once you have your two braids done, gather all your hair
at the nape and twist it into a bun, securing it with a hair
tie. Once your bun is in place, pull, tug, and bobby pin it
until you're satisfied with the look and feel of it.

Braided half-Up

Steps
1. Begin by parting your hair as you normally would. Take a
medium sized section of hair near the temple on both sides
   of your head.
2. Braid each section and secure with a clear elastic (you
can also add a second braid on either side).
3. Grab a braid and drag it across your head to the other
side, right above your ears, securing it with bobby pins.
4. Finish by doing the same to the other braid on the
   opposite side of your head.

To give the hairdo more personality, you can add soft curls to the tips of the hair; just don't forget to use a heat defense. My favorite at the time is the GHD Style Heat Protect Spray.

If you try these hairstyles be sure to Tweet me pictures, Id love to see your recreations! :)
